See I've been a tad overwhelmed as a mom of two. You can read more about my baby blahs here. So I've been complaining a bit to Tommy about how I can't get anything done.
Like I have lists of things to do like organize closets and really clean the bathroom. A successful day is if I do a load of laundry, empty the dishwasher and make dinner. And Tommy being the ever so understanding husband responded back with I don't use my time wisely. His example was instead of blogging for an hour at night I could clean the bathroom if it was bothering me so much.
My response was *%#* you and other things of an equally profane nature. As much as I want a clean bathroom I also want to relax at 9pm. It could mean watching TV or blogging. All I know is it is usually my only bit of down time.
So I set out to capture a day in the life to document how I was always holding Luke and getting nothing done. It was going to be my grand way of saying BOO YA to Tommy. Of course, the day I decided to capture my day in the life Luke decided to sleep. I still liked documenting it and wish I snapped more pictures throughout the day. I like the idea that I can look back at this one day and remember reading books to Bear or tummy time with Luke.
6:10 AM Luke is awake and happy.
6:32 AM- Luke has a poopie diaper. Since he only poops once a day and has had some constipation issues I am totally psyched for a poopie diaper so early in the morning.
6:44 AM - Little Bear is up and snuggling in my bed.
7:14 AM - Start a load of laundry and Bear gets dressed for the day. He hates staying in his pajamas once he is up which is the total opposite of me who would live in my pjs.
7:40 AM - Luke is down for a little nap. I whip up some pancakes (thank you Bisquik) while Bear plays with his Toy Story toys.
8:21 AM - Luke's second bottle of the day. He takes all 4oz.
8:45 AM - Mommy finally gets dressed. By dressed I mean I put on yoga pants.
9:00 AM - Luke is crying so we walk laps around the house.
9:15 AM - We get ready to go visit my great uncle who recently had surgery.
9:30 AM - We visit my Uncle and Luke falls asleep on the car ride. He sure loves to sleep when we are not home. Bear is in love with my Uncle's cat.
10:35 - Leave my Uncle's house and head to grocery store to pick up burgers for dinner.
11:00 AM - We arrive home and Luke is still sleeping! I get to give Bear some one on one attention.
11:15 AM- Luke's up.
12:15 PM- Luke goes back to sleep. I swear he never sleeps this much on a typical day.
12:45 PM - Bear has speech therapy. My mom takes him so I have some time to get things done around the house. Love my mama.
1:00PM - I have lunch and catch up on some blog reading.
1:23PM - I start the housework. The glamorous stuff like laundry, making the bed and yes cleaning the bathroom.
1:45 PM - Bear is home and wants to go on the computer. When he returns from any of his therapy sessions he needs some time to decompress and usually wants to watch a show on TV or go on the computer.
2:30 PM - Luke is awake. Why can't he nap like that everyday??? Bear has some lunch and watches Bubble Guppies. Yes this is very late for Bear to have lunch, but he is not a huge fan of eating so it takes lots of persuasion.
3:07 PM - Luke has a bottle
4:01 PM - Luke has some tummy time while Bear sings him songs.
4:11 PM- Luke entertains himself on his mat while Bear and I read some books
4:56 PM - Bath time for Luke
5:38 PM - Dinner for Bear and Luke goes to sleep in his car seat
5:50 PM_- I make burgers and fries for dinner for me and Tommy. Totally gourmet :)
6:18 PM - Bath time for Bear
6:43 PM - Get Bear into his pjs. Snack and a milk cup.
6:56 PM- Daddy is home. YAY!!!!
7:00 PM- Luke has another bottle, Bear has another snack and daddy has dinner.
7:23 PM- Go through the rest of Bear's nighttime routine. Potty, teeth brushing, tuck him into bed, say prayers and kiss his 4 puppies good night.
7:36 PM- Bear is in bed. Luke, mama and daddy chill on the couch.
8:09 PM - Tommy and I catch up on on our DVR. We watch Redneck Island....don't judge us. Luke falls asleep. Mama treats herself to some ice cream. This may explain why I don't lose weight.
8:45 PM - Tommy walks Roxy and I clean up the kitchen.
9:00PM - Shower time for me
9:18 PM- Blogging/Email Time
9:57 PM - Make the bottles for the night.
10:01 PM- I'm in bed and browsing Facebook on my iPad
10:08 PM- Bedtime
12:32 AM- Luke's up and wants a bottle
4:00 AM - Luke's up and can't settle back to sleep after his bottle
4:48 AM- Put Luke back in his bassinet
5:20 AM - Tommy's alarm goes off. I hold my breath to see if it wakes up Luke.
5:23 AM- Luke's awake but not crying. Just babbling to himself
5:30 AM_ Bring on the waterworks. He gets a little bottle
5:50 AM- Luke spits up and just like that our day starts again....
